The Pilates method is a form of exercise originally developed by Joseph Pilates (1880-1967).
Pilates aims to balance the body and to keep it flexible. By taking this balance and posture in to your everyday life, Pilates enables you to sit better at a desk, stand better in a queue and live with less stress on the joints.
General Pilates Classes
General Pilates classes are available every day except Wednesday from the beginner to the more advanced. Classes last 1 hour. I will bring all the equipment needed all you need is to bring a mat.
Healthy Back Classes - Back4Good
Healthy Back classes are specifically for those with back pain.
Gentle effective exercise delivered by a properly trained professional, can often help with the prevention and management of low back pain. This was underlined by the publication in 2009 of medical guidelines recommending that people with persistent non specific low back pain should be encouraged to stay physically active and exercise. Non specific back pain is tension, soreness and or stiffness in the lower back region.
Pilates for Healthy Backs classes are geared to the prevention and management of low back pain. They will run weekly and are specialist classes only allowed to be taught by a qualified Back4Good® Practitioner, like myself. Pilates for Healthy Backs works specifically on the back with exercises designed to strengthen the back and get it moving again.
In these classes “Homework” will be given after each class to reinforce what is learnt in the back programme and to help you take Pilates to your every day life.
